Why does this new Bull S*** "sell"?

Lil Wayne, Lil John, Drake are getting a "Lil" old.  I'm not just trying to pick out these people but I am trying to point out people who make "music" in the same genre.  When I was in my college education class there was a few people doing a presentation on the effects of media on children.  Music was brought up, but not just any kind of music,  just rap was brought up.  Why don't people appreciate music that takes talent, effort, heart, and soul to make.  The music industry is dying! And there is nothing any of use muscians can do about it.  Bands stuggle to make it these days because people don't appreciate musicianship and people don't appreciate intellectual property.  Every college party I have been to so far have been blasting rap music except for one.  All the parties I have been to also are mainly white people. Why is it becoming so cool for white people to try to be gangster?  In no way am I racist, but where do people draw lines for them selves.  The music is one thing I have left but the music industry is turning into the "rap industry."  People steal music too.  That drives the music industry into the ground.  Bands don't make money on their albums because people steal it from music sharing sites.  What would you rather hear?  A guitar solo by Steve Vai or hear a rap by Lil wayne?  I can tell you that the majority of the young people who read this would rather hear Lil Wayne.  BRING BACK THE MUSIC!
